Member of The Louisiana Watercolor Society
Purpose of The Society
The Louisiana Watercolor Society, which was founded in 1968,
exists to advance the art of painting with water media, defined as
painting in transparent and/or opaque watercolor on paper, and in
unvarnished water-soluble casein, acrylic, and gouache on paper.
Membership Classifications
Charter Membership: Members who organized and founded the
Louisiana Watercolor Society.
Signature Membership: The third appearance in an LWS
International Exhibition qualifies the member to use the Society's
initials after member's name.
To maintain Signature status, a person must pay annual dues
continuously.
Active 1 and Active 2 Membership:
Active 1 Membership in the Louisiana Watercolor Society may be
acquired by exhibiting once at the Annual Exhibition; Active 2
Membership by exhibiting twice at the Annual Exhibition.
To maintain Active 1 or Active 2 status, a person must pay annual
dues continuously.
Associate Membership: Received by any watercolor artist
whose application has been approved by the Board of Directors.
Life Membership: Upon making a one-time dues payment of $250
to the Louisiana Watercolor Society, a person becomes a life
member.
Honorary Membership: Shall be chosen from persons who have
encouraged, appreciated or sponsored art in Louisiana.

3rd slide free in the LWS International Exhibition,
free catalog and free admission to the presentation by the
International
Exhibition judge
Opportunity to earn signature membership by being
accepted into the Annual International Exhibition three times.
Bimonthly meetings with informative speakers or
demonstrations
Bimonthly newsletter (Nov/Dec, Jan/Feb, Mar/April,
Summer, Fall).
Email updates and reminders.
Links to member's web sites on the LWS web site
Discounts on LWS workshops with nationally known
artists such as Cheng-Khee Chee, Milford Zornes, Jeanne Dobie,
Stephen Quiller and Katherine
Chang Liu
Paintouts and encouragement from fellow painters.
